Unable to transmit IL state return

I've been unable to transmit my IL state return. Software says I need to update the software first, but when I update it, the response is that it is up to date. The loop continues. I've attempted this on multiple days after already paying the fee to efile my return.

I tried o transmit my returns and it says an update is needed, after trying to update the message says- turbo tax is up to date. still cant transmit my returns.

 

I see that turbo tax has provided some manual state update links, is there one for Illinois?

 

Already paid the fee, help me transmit my taxes...……...……….

I spent over a hour with Turbo tax support and all they suggested was sending the state in instead of electronically filing- not what i paid for

I tried the manual update- didn't work

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling- it didn't work

I tried clearing cookies and files- It didn't work

I tried fixing errors before uninstalling/ re installing- it didn't work

I see a work around for certain states, when will the remaining states be supported?

 

All i want to do is file my state taxes with the software i paid for that wont let me....................

The form to fill out requesting a refund is time consuming. Printing out and attaching W-2's for 5 tax filings is not what i paid for!  

 

Frustrated and unhappy!

Isn't funny how TB tax got paid b/4 our returns are complete. I was able to find a manual download for my federal return but nothing for the state. My question to TB is why do I have to search for a fix for your problem.

Did all of the suggestions.
Already paid.
Angry and aggravated is an understatement.
Hoping that there is a solution soon!

Same - continuous loop of trying to submit, then being told to update, then check for updates to find that none are available.  I have already paid for the electronic submission, and I have already filed my federal taxes.  Please fix ASAP!

The manual updates did not work at all.  We had already updated the program, and it is fully up to date.  I have also uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, re-updated, and still the same problem.  Looks like many other people are having the same issue.  PLEASE FIX!

Manual update still doesn't work!

 

Should we expect a fix or repair for this or should we just hope that Turbo Tax will do the correct thing?

OMG!!
I was able to finally transmit.
I am attaching the message that was sent to me that solved my problem.
I called Turbotax and did exactly what ChondelLO  told me to do.  
None of the suggested workaround had worked.
They pushed a new state to me.  Once it was downloaded, I was able to transmit.

So to be clear, this previous message was from a TurboTax employee who is saying "OMG - I finally got it..."?  Ridiculous.  I am not continuing to waste more time on the phone for a known issue.  I called AGAIN and spoke to a specialist who confirmed this is a known "glitch" - STILL NO FIX - and suggested I fill out the request form for a refund, which she sent to me.

I just got off the phone yet again with TT and got the same answer I gotten for the last 3 weeks..."they are working on a fix for IL"!!!  They ere not familiar with the issue and acted like I was the only person who is having this problem?  Really?  I tried all the suggested fixes from multiple forums and none worked!

 

This is simply ridiculous.  To my knowledge, they have only provided fixes for NY and Mass which were sent out 3 weeks ago!  We are now ~7 weeks away from 4/15 deadline and still no fix for IL!  They did suggest printing and mailing which really got me upset seeing I already paid for IL e-filing! 

 

Bottom lime is we need to keep checking and hope they get this resolved or we will need to print out the forms and snail mail our returns!

Why doesn't Turbo tax publish a fix or a way to "push" a state update to you?

 

They should fix this before it becomes like the Corona Virus and spreads beyond control.....

I am a customer, not an employee.  I copied and pasted the message from a Turbotax employee.  It worked and both my Federal and Illinois state have successfully efiled and have been accepted.

You need to tell them you have tried all suggested workarounds and that you need to have a new state download "pushed" to you.

@jeffreyml , I asked the same question.  The person on the phone told me this was what they were told to do.  Some people apparently had zero issues.
I think they also want to make sure that people paid instead of offering it free.

Again, i have called and spoke to TT at least 4 X (as recently as yesterday-2/26) and have received the same answer...they do not have a fix yet! 

 

What exactly did they "push" to you?  My understanding is that a fix is forthcoming but they have no idea when?

 

If in fact you were provided with a fix, this upsets me even more as this means they have a customer support team who has not been communicated with regarding a major issue!

This fix worked for me.  Elita at TurboTax was extremely helpful and acknowledged that there were issues with many of the states this year and they are working on fixes.  But the only known fix at this time for Illinois was to have them push a download to your online account.  Once she sent - I had my state taxes filed within 2 minutes.  She also stayed on the line to insure it would work so I wouldn't have to call back if it didn't.

i tried working with them again and they tried to reinstall my state return. Still no luck transmitting. He said a fix may be in place early next week- time is running out.

So it sounds like they have no clue what they're doing?  Some people get pushed a manual fix for IL and others don't?  I have called yet again and have been told there is no fix yet!  They keep telling me to delete my cookies and clear my cache and I keep telling them that I have tried this several times already and it does absolutely nothing!  The support people I have spoken with know nothing about any manual fixes and can only tell me to keep checking for updates!

 

This is unfortunate as I used to be a TT fan!

Just called again.  On hold for 20 minutes, finally picked up...said he is not aware of any manual updates? I then got disconnected?   He had my number yet didn't call me back.  Calling again, on hold for another 10 minutes so far...very frustrating!

OK!!!  Finished my call with Eva in support...she was 100% aware of the issue.  Sent me a link to manually download the IL state update and it worked!  My recommendation is to call and INSIST they send you the update!

tried all three options at least a couple times, still not able to transmit my state returns that are already paid for. 

 

My last talk with Customer service i was told the fix would be Mon-Tues of this week. i day down , still no fix. April will be here soon. 

Will Turbo tax pay interest on the 4 State returns i'm trying to file?

i don't have time each  night to try and fix something that i paid to have work.......

Finally my return transmitted after uninstalling and reinstalling turbo deluxe. During installation noticed a download for Illinois that I hadn't noticed during prior reinstalls. Happy return is out of here but not happy with turbotax and how this situation was handled.
