Trailing Tax Liability

Hello Experts,

I got stock grant while I was in MA (Date of Grant - 09/2021). I moved out of MA  on 11/2021. I can see my MA taxes in W2 for 2022. I am being told that I need to pay these taxes till my all grants are vested in this lot.

Is this information correct?

Can I claim refund from MA during my returns?

If your grants are based in whole or part on work performed in Massachusetts, you will have to pay Massachusetts income tax as a nonresident.  You may get a credit for the taxes paid on your resident tax return.
