State refund Amount Transfer Year to Year

The amount showing on my 2020 TurboTax file that was transferred from my 2019 TurboTax does not match. The amount showing on my 2020 1040 as state refund amount is lower that the amount that shows as my 2019 refund on return e-filed through TurboTax

The amount of prior year state refund that is showing on your 1040 might be different than the amount that you actually received if only part of the refund was taxable. The taxable amount will be reported on Schedule 1 and will carry over to form 1040.

When you enter your information, TurboTax will calculate the taxable amount.
