State reciprocity

I work in a different state that has reciprocity with the state I live in, but Turbotax is showing I owe taxes to the state I work in. Shouldn't I owe nothing to the state I work in? There are no taxes for the state I work in on my W2.

When you live in one state but work and only have wages from a reciprocal state, you will only file state taxes in your home state.

Since you will not have a reciprocal state income tax filing, just check that you selected "no" to " Did you make money in any other states?" under the Personal Information section in TurboTax (see screenshots)

You can get rid of a state without clearing your federal return by just deleting the state from your list of states under the "State Taxes" tab.
