State filing

My tax return was just accepted however it has state as STARTED? Why and how do I fix that? This has never happened before. Also my school district? TurboTax has always been easy and straight forward this year it was not. Please help

You did not file your state return if your federal says accepted and state says started. You can fix this by completing and filing your state return.

  • Click on State in the left column
  • Then click Your State Returns at the top
  • Click Continue next to your state and go through the state section to make sure you answered all the questions

Once you complete your state, keep going through Review and File. TurboTax will ask if you want to file state. Select e-file or mail and keep going.

 

Many states ask for your school district. If use used the same TurboTax account as last year, TurboTax will remember your school district. If not, there is usually a dropdown menu to select your district. Each state program is different as to where to enter your school district information.
