state filing

With the CD/Download software you get a Free State program (to prepare your return), there is a charge to e-file a State return.   You can mail in your State return to avoid the e-file charge.

With the Online version, there is no charge to e-file, the charge is for the returns.  It is the same price whether you e-file or mail in your return.

I am really getting pissed. I have evidently been scammed by Turbo Tax. Now I am being charged for filing my State tax!!

I will go to the Better Business Bureau about this matter and  any other authority.

@jchap1  Since this is not your post, I have no idea why your upset.  It states that on the version you choose that there a free Federal & State (1 State Download), & 5 free Federal e-files.  It does not state that you get any free State e-files.  If you purchased the CD at a store, the box also shows, 1 free State (Deluxe & above)

Why is my state taking so long it’s never been like that ??

Can you clarify the issue? What do you mean by taking long? Have you filed already? If so, you can contact your state for the status of your refund. 

THE PROCESS FOR STATE FILING IS AWFUL. WHEN MY PAYMENT WAS NOT ACCEPTED, THE PROGRAM GAVE ME A SUPPORT NUMBER WHICH DIRECTED ME TO AN AUTO ATTENDANT WHICH WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO MY NEEDS AND THE REMAINDER OF THE DIRECTION FROM TURBOTAX WAS USELESS. I WAS DIRECTED TO A FOREIGN SPEAKING LIVE PERSONA TWICE ON POOR CONNECTIONS, THEN FINALLY THE SECOND PERSON DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I NEEDED AND REDIRECTED ME TO A DOMESTIC REP WHO ALSO WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE TYPE OF PROBLEM I WAS HAVING. FINALLY AFTER ABOUT 90 MINUTES OF TIME WASTED, WE MANAGED TO GET THE JOB DONE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS DISAPPOINTED WITH TURBOTAX. AND THIS WAS WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GIVE THEM MONEY! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FASTER TO TAKE IT TO THE POST OFFICE AND MAIL IT IN BY CERTIFIED MAIL!
