Schedule E Worksheet doesn't apply, but I cant' delete it

I mistakenly answered "yes" when asked if I had rental income.   I don't have any rental properties or income and never entered any amounts.   Now I can't file my return because TT wants me to complete the schedule, even though it doesn't apply to my situation.  How do I get rid of this Schedule E so I can file my return?

To remove the rental activity in TurboTax Premium Online, follow these steps:

  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & income.
  • Click the down arrow to the right of Rentals, Royalties, and Farm.
  • Click to the right of Rental Properties and Royalties.
  • At the screen Your 2024 rentals and royalties summary, select the delete trashcan to remove the incomplete Schedule E.

If this does not completely answer your question, please contact us again and provide more information.

I don't see a down arrow on my version (Desktop/Premier/Windows) .  Perhaps your instructions don't apply to the desktop version.

However, I did solve this problem by going to the Forms link (top right), searching for Schedule E and choosing "Delete Form", thereby removing it from my return.   This allowed me to complete the online filing.
