SC State Return as Foreign Resident

Ok. Posting this after State Tax Return rejected for a 5th TIME. Every time it is giving me an ISO code error. I have entered the code correctly on the State Return and the Federal Return and tried it in multiple iterations. I don't know what else I can do. We didn't have this problem last year filing for South Carolina and living in Scotland. Please help!!

Are you using UK or GB?  I believe now GB is reserved for England while Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland use UK.

If this does not resolve the error, please let us know if there is a specific message or number with the ISO error and if your federal return was accepted.  This will help us investigate.

Hi Theresa -

The Federal Return was accepted. I'm not sure how using UK would help - according to the instructions provided on Turbotax to use an ISO code, UK isn't even an option. I'll give it a try though.

UPDATE: South Carolina Return was rejected again after I tried to use the ISO code 'UK'. No idea what to do at this point. The error code I'm getting every time is "0008 - Missing Invalid Foreign Province or State".

How did you enter your address in Personal Info or My Info on the federal return?

When you saw "Type of mailing address", did you choose the pull down option for "foreign country" before you entered anything else?

Since we can't see your return in this forum, if you are using TurboTax Online, try closing the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and revisit this section.

One user suggests:  "Make sure your County is set at '88 and you have to add the province code in the federal 1040 info worksheet and then it flows to SC."
