Oklahoma 511NR

I am filing OK 511NR for gambling winnings. How do I know the $17000 allowed deduction was used to compute my taxes owed. My understanding is that is the maximum allowed for gambling losses but I don't see anywhere to record them.

With the exception of charitable contributions and medical expenses above 7.5% of your AGI, Oklahoma limits your itemized deductions to $17,000. If you reported gambling losses and itemized deductions on your federal return, this should automatically carry over to your nonresident Oklahoma return. To verify that you are getting the $17,000 itemized deduction in Oklahoma:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Select Tax Tools in the left menu (if you don't see this, select the menu icon in the upper-left corner).
  3. With the Tax Tools menu open, you can then view your 1040 form: Select Tools. Next, select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then OK Tax Summary in the left menu
  4. The standard or itemized deduction line should be 17,000.
