No Employer State ID on W-2 - Error message

Having reviewed the Q & A’s on this topic, I see the solution is generally to enter a false number (e.g., the EIN without the hyphen) so the program will allow the return to be filed.  Doing that eliminates the error message for the W-2, but then creates another problem/error message:  On the Kentucky form KW-2, a box must be checked to verify the State ID number.  I can’t verify a false number on the KW-2 as part of my return.  So, now I have an error message for the KW-2.  What can I do?

Not sure about having to verify a false number.  If your W2 does not have a state ID number then typically the Federal ID number is the correct number.  The state ID number is only a tool to identify employers. The federal ID number serves that purpose if there is not a specific state ID number provided.
