NJ 2021 State Tax Return Documents Problem

Is anyone else having a problem downloading and printing their 2021 NJ State tax returns? I e-filed successfully, received auto-messages as to such, and can see most documents from my final file collectionon screen, but I can't download or print.!!

Pop-up says some "forms are not currently available" ???

Query tab to request notification as to availability doesn't function. Error message from TT.

Frustrating..any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks very much.

Hard to know exactly, but in prior years:

1)  One could print the forms before E-filing

2)  One could print the forms after the Fed and State were e-filed and both had been fully accepted (not just transmitted)

3) But no printing was available just immediately after filing....had to wait until the IRS "Accepted", and then the state also "Accepted"  (IF Fed and state were e-fled at the same time).

So maybe you are in that indeterminant in-the-middle filing situation?

Thanks for the feedback..... Appreciated!

In many past years I had been able to save the PDF of both Federal and NJ State completed returns in dedicate folders.  Additionally, I had printed out the paper documents just out of filing redundancy.  This is the first year I've encountered this situation, and although very considerate, TT Help said they had no idea why.

Both Fed and NJ have been "accepted" already.

But the "unable to print or download" is completely new.

Most peculiar.

Thanks for the feedback.

Got the same message when I e-filed today. I cannot even find a printed confirmation that the NJ State return was e-filed (unlike my Federal return). Think there may be a bug in the software ... TT, can you assist?

I have the same issue.  Filed 01/28/2022, received confirmation via email and text that is was accepted by NJ on 01/29/2022.  Cannot print forms. And "check your refund status" on the states web site is showing they have not received my return yet.

Yes, it's agonizing indeed, and not much site info available at all.  Today I had a productive call with a TT Service Rep. that I think is helpful (so far).

I'm attaching a link that I received (no idea where this stuff actually is stored):

https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_nj_online_individual.html

For some strange reason, this is the first year I have experienced this myself (perhaps because mine is an earlier filing??).

Looks as though NJ does not make documents "available" for download/print until specific dates (see link). Very odd....I will wait to the last date on the list (2/17) and try again.

I was assured that I had successfully filed, been accepted etc.

As to the NJ Refund site, that takes an incredible amount of time to show a result. Awful.

TT should at least offer more clarity as to the forms menu explaining WHY docs are "not yet available".

Hope this helps.

I am able to print my Federal 2021 1040 but still unable to print 2021 NJ State Return even after I've received confirmation that both returns have been accepted. Can TT explain why this is happening? ... Is it a software update issue (with TT) ... or something else (at the NJ state level)? ... Is TT even aware of this issue? ...  Any timeline for resolution of this matter? ... Is there a workaround solution?

I've just checked this website page (New Jersey Individual Forms Availability (intuit.com)) to verify if the NJ 1040 Resident return is now available. TT's website says it is ... & yet I still cannot print my return, after receiving notice that's it's been accepted & having confirmed that my TT software is up to date.

This is so frustrating! Anybody have additional information?

Here's another working theory ... Do we all have the most recent NJ forms update or is there a programming lag? If NJ resident tax forms were not finalized until sometime recently in February, perhaps that's the key thing we should have TT focus upon.

I just checked my software to notice that my TT general program update is dated 2/11/22 while the last NJ-specific program update I've received is dated 1/27/22, a 2+ week lag (& growing). Since NJ has finalized the 1040 Resident Return forms (per New Jersey Individual Forms Availability (intuit.com)), could TT be holding back updating its software until NJ finalizes all other tax forms, even though they are not germane to Form1040 (as we know since our returns are being accepted)?

Opinions?

You can try to manually update. More details and assistance with doing so has been provided by clicking here

Thank you Lindsey.
My program has been updated at the time of initial data entry, and I have tried that anyway since filing.

To no avail!
The message from TT is "NJ tax documents are unavailable for download, convert to PDF, or printing".
Isn't that a TT generated message??
Would be great to push through a patch to fix or explain that.

I've received State notices of receipt and acceptance, so why no paper work available vis the TT interface??

I've also added my email address to the TT message that says it "will notify me when available"....BUT I'm really not sure where that appeal went. :(
I really need to have paper copies for other purposes during the year.
Thanks.

LindseyLO: Since there is no manual update for NJ State Resident Form 1040, this suggestion wasn't very helpful. That said, a new NJ State program update dropped this morning (2/17/22) which did allow me to save & print my 2021 State Form 1040.  So problem is now solved.

That said, I do have one lingering question ... namely, there is no electronic date stamp page that prints for the state filing (only for the federal filing). So, how can I prove that TT e-filed this second tax return?

Sincerely,

Dennis

Anyone else having this issue when they go to efile in NJ. “Returns with Pass-Through Business Alternative Income Tax Credit are not eligible for electronic filing turbo tax”

I have just a simple tax return with a W-2 and 1099b to report. Federal already accepted my return. I think there is a glitch in turbo tax software for NJ Efile. It is telling me to mail my return.
