How do I fix CA form 540.

What specific error are you receiving regarding CA 540? Please copy and paste in the error message in your reply so we can assist you further.

As it turns out it was Turbo Taxes fault.  Used the wrong form. The correct form won’t be available until January 31.

Please click on California State Forms Availability periodically to check if your form is ready. TurboTax brings in the forms as fast as they become available wherever possible. Once the form is ready, when you open your program, it will have automatically updated. By re-running the Review, you will know if the form is updated.

I have been trying to file my California taxes and it keeps getting rejected because of a negative value on the 540 schedule D. What do I have to do to fix this?

Schedule CA: the errors are: Fed alimony paid must be entered, Ln5-Fed SS benefits amt must be entered, Alimony SSN, Alimony last name but I don't have alimony. How to fix those errors?

Please try using a different browser @thyha - not internet explorer, it is causing trouble.

Can you please be more specific with what you are seeing for your schedule D?

It is not internet explorer. I bought a CD and downloaded it to my desktop.

California Individual Form 540 California resident Income Tax Return:   

Available to file b Mail:   Ready Soon

Available to E-File:  Ready Soon

 

Same thing for California Individual Schedule D (Cal Capital Gain or Loss Adjustment)   

 

I already update the software (TurboTax for Home & Business 2019)  many time to no avail

I have the same issue very frustrated. Can not get rid of errors. Turbo Tax need to find a resolution. Same issue last year. Had to file state hard copies because of same error.

Please review the State availability form to see if this form is supported for e-file. Not all forms are supported.

Form 540 Line 92 (ISRPenalty) must be present unless line 6 (ClaimedAsDependent) is checked 'Yes'.
