Form MO-CR Question

I am using Desktop Premier Version.  I am a resident of Missouri, my spouse is a resident of Oregon.  I am filing as married filing jointly in federal, Missouri and Oregon.  For the Missouri return, Form MO-CR, includes all my spouse's Oregon income in my column and $0 in her column.  That does not seem right.  I cannot determine where TurboTax is getting the data because it does not support the interview process for Missouri and Oregon, so I must use Forms for Missouri.  The forms are auto-filled but I don't know why or from where.  I want to know why my spouse's income data is listed in the Y column rather than the S column?

For this type of filing, you'll need to calculate what should be in each column and enter it manually.

Thanks for the reply!  I will try the manual method.  One problem is that I do not know where to find the data in the TurboTax forms.  What TurboTax auto-filled is not necessarily correct but I cannot trace the source of the data.  One number does not appear on anything I have for income data so perhaps TurboTax is aggregating data.  I cannot determine what is being aggregated.  Is there any way to determine the source of the auto-filled information?

Since you are using a Desktop version of TurboTax, you can look at Forms mode and click inside fields that have numerical entries to find the source of the amounts. You can also look at the Worksheets for each state to see how items of income were grouped together.

You can also go to Tools at the top menu bar, then select My Tax Data to find which entries were made by the user or from another source. By clicking to highlight a data item, you can then click on the buttons Jump to Interview and Jump to Form to see where the data item was entered in an interview screen or where it appears on a form.
