Efile California Costs

Hello TurboTax Rep/Community~

I understand the cost to efile state taxes is $25 through the desktop version.

I'm wondering if there is a cut off date for filing at the $25 price?

In other words, does this price go up in March, or April?

Thank you for the assistance with this question!

Best,

TH

We don't know for sure but it didn't go up before.  In fact it used to be less then increased to $25 on March 1.  But it looks like now it is the full price from the beginning.  If you buy from Costco and maybe somewhere else you get a $10 credit you can use for efiling or buying an extra state.

There has not been an increase in the price to e-file a state tax for past years.  Regardless if the price for the software increases in March.  The $25 e-file fee stays the same.

Thank you for the reply, VolvoGirl.

I did buy my desktop version from Costco and plan on putting the $10 towards the state efiling fee.

Thanks for the info in case I was unaware.

Best,

T

@T-Hi49   The $10 credit will be automatically applied.  It does expire on 4/30/26 so file before then.
