E-filing PA 40

I paid the $20 to e-File 2022 PA 40 but it won't e-file because a blank Schedule UE came over from my 2022 1040. We are both retired but I can't figure out how to delete the Schedule UE. I get a screen that says if I want to "exclude or remove" the Schedule UE, go to the next screen but the next screen does not have an "exclude or remove" option.  What am I missing?

I figured it out. The method you proposed did not work but closer inspection of the Schedule UE form shows a small box in the upper corner of the form which indicates that if you don't need the form, fill in the box and the form will go away. Sure enough, it worked. Not sure why it shows up in the first place and the "cancel" box certainly is not highlighted on the form. But all is well now and thanks for the help.

Yes, you can delete Schedule UE if it is not needed.

If you are using TurboTax Online:

  1. Open your return and scroll down to Tax Tools on the bottom of the left side menu.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Click on Delete a form (third on the list at the bottom of the screen).
  4. Find Schedule UE on the list of forms.
  5. Click Delete to the right.
  6. Confirm your Delete.
  7. Click Continue in the lower right corner.
  8. Click Continue with my return.

If you are using the Desktop version (disc or download):

  1. Click Forms toward the upper right corner.
  2. Find Schedule UE on the list on the left. It will be near the bottom, under the Pennsylvania return.
  3. Highlight it, then click Delete in the lower left corner of the reading pane.
  4. Click on Step by Step in the upper right corner to return to the interview.

It didn't work. It looks like it works but when I try to efile it keeps reappearing. I even logged out and logged back in thinking I needed to reboot the software to have the delete perform but it still didn't work. There must something in the 1040 logic that keeps reinstating the schedule even though I delete it in the PA40 list of forms.
