Can we still do e-file before 11/16/2023?

In the 2022 disaster impacted area, I was trying to e-file just now. But the following message said it's closed. Will it help if I call the suggested [phone number removed]? Thanks!

E-File or Audit Defense is closed for the season

Hi there, and thanks for visiting. E-File or Audit Defense in TurboTax is closed as of October 31, 2023, so we can get ready for the upcoming tax season.

See you then!

No. Turbotax has closed e-filing for 2022

Incredibly frustrating.  Why close before the tax deadline extension for the Californians due to the natural disasters?  There should be an exception to allow those persons to file by their extended deadline accordingly.

This is Turbotaxes's choice. So it says they can prepare for e-filing for 2023 and for other reasons.

TurboTax is in transition from 2022 to 2023.  E-filing closed for 2022 at the end of October, even though you can still file timely by the CA deadline by mailing your return.  Get it postmarked by the CA deadline.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
