California forms not finalized

Why do I get the message "Your California return is currently unavailable to view, print or download because some of the forms haven't been finalized yet. There is a Notify me when forms are ready link, but it doesn't work.

Does this mean I can't efile until you get all the updated info for the State?

It depends.

Some forms also have not been finalized by the Franchise Tax Board.  Until the forms and instructions are finalized, you will not be able to complete your state tax return.

This ensures your return is prepared and calculated correctly.

Please see the link below to help you determine the dates when the applicable forms are anticipated to be released and available for electronic filing.

I got that same error codes last week and as recently as this morning.  Interestingly, I was able to e-file the California return and paid TurboTax the fee, but I cannot save nor print the forms for the reasons cited by the OP.

Plus, I looked at the forms availability table, and all of the ones I would use are available

I see this issue has been reported and is currently being investigated.

Thx for tip for California Unsupported Forms.  I just reviewed, and my Schedule A is ready to print, but list indicates the form is unsupported.  Seems to be a very common schedule and one would expect that it would not cause an efile program.

Has the form been finalized for state efiling?

Please check forms availability here. Select online, Windows, or Macintosh from the drop down menu. Whenever the federal and states change a form, we have to as well. This happens throughout tax season.

The problem is not that the forms are available, as they all are. You cannot print the CA State return, even though it has been filed and accepted, because the error message say that some forms are not available.

Have someone fix TT so we can print our state return.

The issue has been fixed, and the release is going out on 1/31. You can try printing on 02/01.

Thank you for the update! For me anyway, TT seems to be working fine.  I did the updates today for Program and State and I am now ok to efile and print at any time.

Must have been a lot of grief for other users based upon posts that I have been following the last week.

Beer tastes a LOT better now 🙂
