The K-1 should have been entered on the federal portion of TurboTax and then everything gets transferred to the state return(s) automatically. You either have a rental or royalty property that you started entering on the federal part of the interview or when you went through the CA return, you may have entered some kind of adjustment that relates to a rental or royalty property.
Use Forms Mode (click on Forms in the upper right corner) to find out what the issue is. Your K-1 goes to Schedule E (Part ll or lll) and should be included in both your federal and CA return. If there are entries on Part l, you have a rental or royalty property on your return. Any form with an error has a red exclamation point next to it. See if the is a Sched E Worksheet for a rental or royalty property. Your CA forms are at the bottom of the list.
Yes, the CA Sch K-1 form has an error message regarding setting up the link to Sch E for royalties. The federal Sch K-1 does NOT have any error message. And, there is NO royalty income on either the Federal or CA K-1. This error prevents e-filing. How to fix? I have already paid for the CA e-filing.
