CA form 568 line J left empty

This looks like a bug in software.

In CA 568 form line J "Principal business activity code (Do not leave blank)" TT2019 leaves it blank if you select "EDUCATIONAL SERVICES" as Business activity. It doesn't allow to enter the code manually either. And it doesn't flag it as an error during the review.

FTB site says the code should be 611000.

The input will need to be made in the federal interview section of the program.

  1. Select Income & Expenses 
  2. Select Self-employment income and expense 
  3. Proceed through the screens to edit your information regarding your business. You will be able to select the business activity and select Edit to the right of the business name.
  4. Scroll down to Tax details and you will be able to edit the Business code in this section.  This should pull into your state return.
