Ammend PA state return via Turbotax problem

Hi all,

I live in foreign country and work there, turned out I made a mistake when filed for 2023 as a PA resident and paid 2k$ in taxes. I'm trying to amend it now. I filed state return married jointly with my wife which lived in PA and was a resident, but she has 0$ income for 2023 and I have 0$ PA sources income. When I try to ammend it via turbotax it ask me for very short description and not allowing me to attach supporting documents. Could you help me how can I attach this documents? Also, maybe there are better way to ammend it than turbotax?

You will need to print and mail your amended return.  In the short description, you can just type in See attached and then attach a separate page with your explanation.

Thank you for your reply! However, do PA usually need to attach supporting documents, like utility bills, and insurance? I mean, I thouhgt that it is faster via TurboTax if documents not required? Do you know how usually PA handles this?

Are you trying to prove that you did not live in PA and did not have US sourced income?  If so, you can attach those things although I do not know that it is necessary, but it can't hurt.  It is better to over prove than under prove.  A drivers license would be helpful if you are not from or in PA.

In general it is quicker and easier with TurboTax, however, in certain circumstances, when you have a non typical situation, you do have to print and mail.
