2019 California e-file payment voucher

Using TurboTax Premier 2019 updated as of 3/10/2020, the program is not producing a California state payment voucher for e-filed individual returns (California form FTB 3582). Calling the TurboTax support people on 3/10, their answer was that the form wasn't being supported.

Has any other Californian seen the same problem or discovered a way to get the voucher out of TurboTax?

Similar payment vouchers for Federal and Illinois state returns were produced by the software. The vouchers are printed to accompany check payments of taxes owed on e-filed returns.

CA 3582 is available to print.  Do you need to send a check or put down to Direct Debit your account?

scroll way down.  3582 is listed

I'm not sure what the table at your link is supposed to indicate but the entry for 3582 in the "E-file" column is "unsupported". The entry in the "Print" column is "available" but the 3582 form doesn't appear in my return using either the "E-file" or "File by mail" options in the "File a return" step.

I'd already found the form on the California FTB website but was hoping the "unsupported" status in TurboTax was an error and not their policy going forward. I mean, if they can provide one for Illinois returns what's keeping them from supporting California?

Well obviously efile is unsupported because you can't efile  the 3582.  You have to print and mail it.  Are you using the Desktop program?  Switch to Forms Mode.  Click Forms in the upper right (left for Mac).  Then if it isn't listed in the list on the left column click on Open Form at the top.  Here's a screen shot

Thanks for your help. I'd tried the same approach regarding the Form opening. When I open the 3582 in my Windows version, it does open a blank 3582 but does not fill in the various data fields with information from my return (names, SSNs, address, etc.). The blank fields appear to be present (you can move the mouse pointer over them and they highlight) but you can't type information into them yourself. The blank fields even lack the captions/titles indicating what information should be put into them. Although one can print the blank form  from TurboTax, it's value is minimal since you don't know what information should be provided on it.

Until TurboTax implements better support for the 3582 within the program, the best approach is downloading the form from the  California FTB website.  It has captions/titles on the data fields and can be filled in electronically, saved and printed.

If you e-filed your state tax return and have state taxes owed, the Form 3582, Payment Voucher for Electronically Transmitted Returns would be included in the PDF of your tax return.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

Or -

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2019 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
