I filled my federal and state tax returns together for 2017. My IL state tax return was never accepted. I did go in and amended the application but have no prove that it was ever accepted. How to proceed? Thank you for the help
Ok... to start with you do NOT amend a return that was never filed and accepted.
Next ... if the return was accepted for processing did you ever get the refund or did they cash your balance due check ?
So ... if the state return was not accepted then you need to print, ink sign and mail in an ORIGINAL return.
