Hello. My wife is selling her artwork in various outlets and receiving a 1099. I'm keeping all receipts pertaining to supplies used for her artwork. Should I track mileage to and from the various venues or does the application of a 1099 remove that requirement? I'm guessing that if she sells artwork without a 1099 it'll open up a new can of worms?
Great question!!
First, here are my favorite Self Employment links:

They might help answer some of your other self employment questions.
As far as mileage, you will keep track of all mileage to and from your home (which in the case is probably her business). I find that using the standard mileage deductions is the easiest.
Here is a link that talks more about vehicle expenses: hhttps://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/small-business-taxes/business-use-of-vehicles/L6hi0zzzhttps://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/small-business-taxes/business-use-of-vehicles/L6hi0zzzh
As far as income, income can come in the form of a 1099 NEC, 1099 MISC or just cash/checks/credit card. All of these will be reported on that same Self Employment income/expense section. This link shows you how to find the Self employment spot to enter income and expenses. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/self-employment-taxes/report-income-self-employment/L5wADi3xQ_US_en_US
