What if my employer does not send a 1099

What do I do if my employer does not send me a 1098 form for being hired with them as an independent contractor?

Please contact the employer first and verify.  You should be receiving a form 1099-MISC if you worked as an independent contractor. If you do not, you still should report your income as self employment income. When going through TurboTax  Self-Employment section, you will have the choice to enter income that was NOT reported on form 1099-MISC (it will other self-employment income) . Please read How do I report Income from Self-Employment?  for details.
