Long term Care policy payment received after father received 1099-misc

Received payment from long term care policy for time my father was in nursing home. However we had paid the bill and were not reimbursed until after my fathers death. Then the long term care company sent me a 1099-misc instead of under my fathers social security number. Since it was paid after he had passed they said had to be in mine. Turbo tax is showing it as income as if I was operating a business when in fact it was for my fathers care before he passed. I didn’t make any money from it. I have to claim it but how can I deduct amount paid out. It is NOT a 1099-LTC as he normally received. It is on a 1099-misc

get a corrected 1099 from the home or offset the one you have with the amount paid out....enter as Other Income with addition and subtraction.
