How to make changes that are made on Fed return (Reason code for 1099-nec) pass thru to state return?

State is Mississippi. Selected reason was "Lawsuit".  Now want to change to something else. State return continues with Lawsuit.

You would need to correct the federal since it flows into MS. When you enter the form, you describe what it is from. Then, do any of these uncommon situations apply, you selected lawsuit and now say that is incorrect. Instead, selecting "sporadic activity" may better suit you and does not create a business return.

Changed NEC on fed but didn’t flow to state. Deleted NEC and MISC from fed but they remained in state. Finally pulled up list of forms included in state and deleted all NEC and MISC forms. Then added them back (correctly this time) to fed. State is now correct! Once these forms go to state, they stay there and are not changed by fed changes.
