No, it isn't business income.  It's a one-time payment so you can enter it as "Other Income" instead of self-employment income.  Follow the navigation instructions in the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter a 1099-MISC?

  1. Delete the 1099-MISC form that you already entered by selecting the trash can
  2. Enter the 1099-MISC again
  3. When you get to the screen that asks you Does one of these common situations apply? Select None of these apply
  4. Select  No that it didn’t involve work like your main job
  5. Select how often you received the bonus
  6. Select No it didn’t involve the intent to earn money.

Your income will appear on line 8 of Schedule 1 of your 1040 as Other Income.

Refer to the TurboTax Help article What's the difference between self-employment income and other income? for more information.

@SharonD007You are AWESOME! It worked and it was taxed at a lower rate. I would have never figured this out on my own!  Thank you!
