What do I do if I made an error in completing my return that would significantly decrease my taxable income?

I received a corrected statement regarding PFLA. I used an incorrect version. Corrected version decreases taxable income. This would me I would most likely not owe as much or any payment. Do I wait until I hear from federal and states and hope they find the correction?

No, once your return has been accepted and your payment cleared you need to file an amended return.
