what code will appear on line 7 of the 1099

I am over 75 years of age and plan on making a partial conversion of my traditional ira to a roth . What code will be listed on line 7 of the 1099r that I will receive for this transaction

Yes, code 7 for someone over age 59½ making a Roth conversion from a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA.  The IRA/SEP SIMPLE box will also be marked.  As VolvoGirl said, make sure that the RMD for the year for all of your traditional IRAs has been satisfied before doing any Roth conversions.  The first funds during the year out are your RMD and no part of your RMD is permitted to be converted to Roth.

I’m not sure, I think code 7.   See all the codes on 1099R instructions page 18 for the Distribution Codes

But I wanted to tell you in case you didn’t know, that you need to take out your RMD before you convert any to a ROTH.
