TT wants to start a new return each time it's opened even though I have started a new return previously

I have TT 2025 installed on my MAC computer.  I transferred my 2024 return info to a new tax return and saved it when exiting.  Whenever I restart TT, it wants to begin a new return, rather than taking me to the partially completed return that I previously saved.  Why is that?  (I can get to the previously saved tax return by clicking chose another tax return from that start page, but shouldn't TT initially take me to the return I previously started?
