treatment for RMD

Turned 73 in Sep/2024.........took required RMD in 2024 (although not due until April 2025).

I know I must take full RMD in 2025, but how do I treat RMD amount I took in 2024?

You should have a 1099R for that.  Just enter the 1099R and answer the follow up questions.  Did you take the full RMD in 2024 or just part of it?  If you need to take the rest of it by April 1 you will also need to take the 2025 RMD by 12/31/25.

Enter a 1099R under
Federal Taxes on left
Wages & Income
Then scroll way down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
Then IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) – Click Start
If you are adding another 1099R there might be a Add button at the bottom of the list.
