RMD

I have 3 IRAs and took all RMD from one account.   Because I didn't take any distribution from 2 accounts I have no 1099R from them.   Turbo tax calculates a penalty and asks if you want to file waiver.  Is this the only way to indicate you have taken the correct entire RMD?

You can take the entire RMD from a single account: 

  • However, in the interview, the question is asked about how much you are required to take for an RMD. 
  • This should reflect the total amount.
  • You should not post anything for the other two accounts if there was no distribution.
  • The amount required should equal the amount withdrawn.
