RMD Distribution Calculation

I'll be withdrawing my RMD after my birthday in 2026, can I use the existing Uniform Lifetime Table contained on the IRS website, or do I need to wait until a 2026 version of the table has been made available?

Thank you,

William

The IRS updates the Uniform Lifetime Tables approximately every 10 years.  The current version of the table was released in 2022.  While you do have to wait until after the 1st of January to do the math for your RMD (as you will need to know what the 12/31/25 close of business balance was in your retirement account) you can safely use the current table to calculate your 2026 RMD.
