reporting1099R verses w-2

Last year i reported my 1099R income now turbotax brings up W-2. Do I assume and fill in the information as if it were a W-2

No, a W-2 reports income you earned working  for someone. A 1099-R reports retirement distributions. Please, report each form in the correct section. You can use the search function to get to the right section. For example:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “1099-R”
  2. Click on “Jump to 1099-R”
