rejected for 1099-r not having ein

i was rejected for not putting a correct EIN for 1099-r.

the issue is when entering information they do not ask for EIN but the TIN, which i did put.

on the form itself there is no EIN on the paper.

what can i do about the rejection for something i dont have?

Does it have a Payer ID number?

On the form 1099R you may see the number called a Payer's TIN or EIN or FEIN; all mean the same number.  The payer's identification number.

You'll find it near the payer's name/address typically on the left hand side of the form and it will be a nine digit number in the format XX-XXXXXXX.  That entry is required for a successful e-file.

If you still have trouble locating the number on the form you should contact the payer to get the correct number.
