I paid too much in Social Security. How do I resolve that issue?

Was it all from the same employer?

I had two employers, but the issue may have arisen because my 2nd employer incorrectly paid CA state taxes on my salary instead of the correct state. The payroll company resolved the issue, but I had already been paying extra for three months.

TurboTax will help you to either get your taxes back through your tax return or will recommend that you need to reach out to the employer who over-withheld Social Security taxes to get that amount back.

Where do I find it in TurboTax? I paid for the Deluxe so that I could resolve the issue. Thanks for the help.

Just enter your W-2s as normal. It will happen before you move on to other types of income
