How to access 1099 B forms

To enter an investment sale from a brokerage account (1099-B), follow the steps below.

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Investment Income
On Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other, click the start or update button

 

 

How do i enter the 1099-B income into the business income slot

Do you mean Investment Income?  If so, in TurboTax Online, follow these steps to enter an investment transaction on an IRS form 1099-B.

 

• Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
• Down the left side of the screen, click Wages and Income.
• Scroll down to Investments and Savings.  Click Show more to the right. 
• Click Start/Revisit to the right of Stocks, mutual funds, bonds, other.
• At the screen Your investments and savings, click Add investments.
• At the screen Let's import your tax info, click Enter a different way.
• Click on Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds.  Click Continue.

 

In TurboTax CD/Download, follow these steps:

 

• In step-by-step mode, across the top of the screen, click Personal.
• Across the top of the screen, click Personal Income.
• Select i'll choose what I work on.
• Scroll down to Investment Income.
• Select Start / Update to the right of Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other.
• At the screen Did you sell investments in 2022, select Yes.
• At the screen Did you get a 1099-B, select  Yes.
