Getting error "Check this Entry" and "Form 1099-B worksheet

I imported a 1099-B directly from my broker and am getting this error which honestly doesn't make any sense. I know I can go to tax tools>tools>delete forms but when I try to delete any forms that say capital gns adjustment form I get a message saying they are deleted (but they aren't). Not sure what to do...

This is how you delete the 1099-b form.

  • Then click on Tools and select Delete a Form
  • Scroll through the list of forms and when you find the 1099-B, click Delete next to it
  • It will confirm that you want to delete the form, hit yes (or continue)
  • The form will be deleted

Another option is to delete income forms from the summary screen for that particular form.

Note: It might be a little for a final 1099-B.

Hello, thank you for your response.

I have stock sale gain/loss that I need to report on my tax return so how would deleting the form 1099-B help...when I do that it just deletes any information that I have reported under the Federal>Wages & Income>

Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other section. Then if I add that income back on it just puts the 1099-B form back into the forms section and I continue to get the same error. Can you just tell me how to get this "error" to go away? I literally used the Turbo tax tool to connect directly to TD ameritrade and import my 1099-B information so it really doesn't make any sense at all that I am getting errors like this. I've attached a screenshot.

Yeah man so an update: I called TurboTax twice because of this issue, and neither time were they able to help fix this. They quite literally couldn't figure it out. The last person I talked to said they would "open a case for me" and after I got off the phone I immediately got an email saying the case was closed. I switched to FreeTaxUSA literally as a result of their ineptitude in fixing this problem, FreeTaxUSA is actually free (they won't charge you to file your 1099s) and I did not experience this stupid error. Save yourself the hassle.
