Form RRB 1099-R

The Step by step asks for the box 5, 10 and 11 amounts which are on the Blue Form. It is not giving me an option to enter boxes 3, 4, 7 and 9 which are on the Green Form. Where and how do I enter these amounts? Thanks!

The green form is your annuity or pension and entered as a 1099-R.

The blue form is your Social Security equivalent and entered in the same place as SSA-1099.

To enter the blue form:

  1. Select Social Security
  2. When asked about the benefits, select Railroad

To enter the green form:

  1. Select Pension -1099-R
  2. Enter the information

By clicking on the Turbo Tax 1099-R the numbers are not equivalent to the RRB 1099-r (Green Form).  For example: Box 3 on the Green Form is Employee Contributions, Box 4 is Contributory Amount, Box 7 is Total Gross Paid.  Turbo Tax 1099 R - Box 3 is Capital Gain, Box 4 Federal income tax Withheld and Box 7 is - Select code(s) that matches Box 7.

I have been trying to get this entered for several days and am getting extremely frustrated.

@gsutton007 You did not select the correct 1099-R when you started.  You needed to select the RRB-1099-R and what you selected was the 1099-R.

Delete the form you started and then select the correct form.

Found it!  Although it didn't have a Box 7, it is the same amount as Box 3 so it should work out.
