Form 8606

Due to the CARES Act I did not have to take a RMD from my IRA for 2020, so I didn't.  My IRA is a non-deductible IRA.  Should a Form 8606 have generated to be submitted with my return.  Or is it only generated if I had taken a deduction.  In years before I was required to take an RMD, my accountant always had a Form 8606 in my tax package.  Thanks.

There is no reason to have an 8606, since you did not take a distribution. There is nothing to record on the form. Keep your 2019 8606 available just in case you need to reference it.
