What was there 3 days ago? Most investment companies won't have the 1099 import files ready until mid Feb. And the file you can see on the websites is only the pdf file, not the special import file. And the 1099R section in Turbo Tax won't be ready until Jan 21 to enter or import. The date was pushed back from Jan 14.
Fidelity showing up as one of the Banks/Investment firms I could select was there 3 days ago or so. As of yesterday no Fidelity shown anywhere. And my 1099-R is shown as available in my Fidelity account. Is there a difference in a "import file" and a "pdf file"? Thanks for the help so far!
Yes the import file is different than a pdf file. You can't see the import file on the websites like Fidelity. They can have the pdf statement ready for you to download and print but the import files take longer for them to make.
And as I said you can't enter or import a 1099R yet. That section won't be ready until Jan 21, 2026 in Turbo Tax. So try again after Wednesday.
OK I checked my Turbo Tax Desktop program. I selected Fidelity and it gave me this screen saying Jan 31 to import. Says the same thing for Fidelity Net Benefits
Thanks! That helps but would of thought Turbo Tax would have sent e mail or at least info on Fidelity not ready rather than just disappearing it from the On line Tax program :(. One day its there and next just gone!
Fidelity is not showing for me between the institutions I can link to my turbo tax account (Turbo Tax Premium online). Last year, I had two accounts linked (me and my wife's accounts). This year, the accounts showed auto-import not available, I thought to delete them and add them back in case that fix it; for my surprise I cannot even link the accounts back because Fidelity it's not between the institutions I can link to my account.
Fidelity is on Partner List - Tax Import | Intuit TurboTax is able to download now. Please try again after the company is ready for the download. It should be showing for you. Log out of your return and try one or more of the following:
I was able to import a simple 1099 from Fidelity today but the one for my brokerage account is not available from Fidelity yet. For NetBenefits, it tells me that it is not available to download and to try again on Saturday, October 17, 2026. I guess that's their indirect way of saying "it's not going to be available for download"
Fidelity NetBenefits is not listed on the partner list website.
I have the same problem with Netbenefits, but I selected Fidelity Investments instead and it imported my forms!
Same issue today trying to download from Fidelity Netbenefits. Forms not available until October 2026. Download from straight Fidelity didn't work for me. I guess I'll give it another 1-2 weeks.
I don't know if they will ever allow imports from Netbenefits.
Maybe it was planned to be new this year, but it was never available in the past.
I've always had to manually type in my 1099-R forms that show up in my Netbenefits account.
(Opinion: Don't use a PDF or picture upload either....Just use the "Type it in myself")
So My fidelity forms are ready and the PDF will download to my computer but wont import to turbo tax possibly error code 902. What's up ? The whole reason I use turbo tax STILL is for this import....
Check your Fidelity the download is only for viewing, the actual files to use in the program wont be ready until march 11 for mine! And I agree, I only use Turbo Tax so the long 1099 misc files are automatically entered into the program! I have Windows 10 PC But needing Windows 11 is a scam between Turbo Tax and Microsoft, I am not going to buy a new PC just to be able to download the program to my computer this year !!
So, I was able to link Fidelity accounts and the forms that were available by 2/2/2026 were auto-import just fine.
However, as new forms have become available those are not automatically auto-import. In fact, my both linked fidelity accounts are marked as "auto-import not available"
I'm afraid that I need to delete the imported forms, unlink the Fidelity accounts, and do it again when all forms are available. This is tremendously unproductive.
Does anyone have a solution to Fidelity forms are auto-import as new forms come available?
Try waiting until Fidelity says your forms are complete and final, then import them? That is what I am doing after March 11 when it says my forms will be available for download. .
Forms that are available for download to your computer are not the same forms that are imported using the 'import' function, and those forms may not yet be available.
If you're using TurboTax Online, you can upload a PDF copy of your 1099-B into the program by choosing 'Sales Section' in the interview.
When attempting to import into TurboTax Desktop, make sure you have a good connection by choosing 'Allow' in the LAN settings (icon to the left of URL address in browser), have disabled your anti-virus programs, and have 'third party access' enabled in your broker account settings.
Remember that the IRS already has copies of all your 1099's so entering a Category Summary Total of your transactions is sufficient for your tax return.
