Can I file UK pension using substitute 1099-R?

Form 1099-R.. I reported my Foreign UK pension  last year left the FED ID blank and I was able to e-file with no problems. This year 2017 it is demanding a FED id and refuses to e-file.  Should I use a different form ? I want to e-file ?

Yes, You can create a substitute 1099 R instead or trying to make it work in the standard 1099-R section.

Once you click the box "I need to prepare a substitute 1099-R," TurboTax will walk you through all the steps necessary to report your UK pension.

Make sure you convert you income into US Dollars.

I did select the prepare a substitute 1099-R box but it will not let me e-file without the FED ID filled in. The UK Pension service does not have a FED ID.  I tried leaving the ID blank, filling with 9’s and filling with 0’s but will not let me e-file. Last year it worked fine widen filled with  9’s ?

O am having EXACTLY the same problem and cannot get a response from Turbo Tax. I put in UK Teacher's Pension address, check the box for foreign address and when I am ready to file, it won't let me proceed because lack of FED ID. I also tried zeros and 9's but to no avail. I think it is a 2017 glitch I have not had problems with before. Did you receive any resolution from TT?

No resolution from Turbo tax. I filed paper copies by mail.
