1099-R

Turbo Tax is asking for information on Robert's 1099-R.  He has not taken any distributions from his retirement account, therefore, he does not have a 1099-R.  Please advise.

If Robert had a distribution in the prior year, it will carry over to this year in TurboTax. You can delete this 1099-R from your return. 

 

To do so, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your return in TurboTax.
  2. Search for 1099-R with the magnifying glass tool on the top of the page.
  3. Select the Jump to 1099-R link in the search results.
  4. On the retirement distribution summary screen, delete the 1099-R with the trash can icon.
