1099-R placement on 1040

I've entered my 1099-R information into TurboTax, but it's not showing up on line 4d (pensions and annuities).  It is however being added to line 1 (wages, salaries...). Why?  It has always been separate from wages.

The amount reported on a code 3 Form 1099-R received before the individual has reached the plan's normal retirement date is considered to be wages.  Once the individual has reached the normal retirement date for the plan, the amount will appear on line 4d.  This is controlled by the answer provided to TurboTax's question asking if the individual was under or over the normal retirement age for the plan.

Thank you for the answer.  I was confused because last year it was reported on the line for pension income.  Thanks again

Perhaps you answered the normal-retirement-age question differently last year.
