1099-R Needs Review?

I have entered my 1099-R multiple times, and it keeps saying it "Needs Review."  It's just a 1099-R, not a CSA, or anything else.  I've read some suggestions to delete the line, and re-add it.  I have tried that.  I have tried signing out, clearing my cookies and cache, signing back in, and re-entering.  I have tried Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers.  I have tried a desktop browser, and a mobile browser.  I have entered the info manually.  I have used the "Take a Photo" option using my handheld device.  Every single time I try it, it says "Needs Review."  Any ideas?

After entering in the 1099-R you must also complete all the follow up screens in that section ... if you have completed that and still have issues then contact TT support for assistance.

My Box 16 is blank  The program made me enter a value.  I entered $0.00, and it seems to have worked.

I take it that box 15 has something in it?

TurboTax is programmed that if you have any entry in boxes 14, 15, or 16, then it makes you fill in all three.

The issue is that some people who print 1099-Rs nonsensically put something in box 15 even when 14 and 16 are empty.

When box 14 is empty, you don't need to enter anything for box 15 or 16.

However, I doubt that your workaround will cause a problem.

If box 14 has a value, then box 15 must also be filled in.

AND

if box 14 has a value....many states require that box 16 be filled in with the value of box 1 or box 2a

(I would insist it's box 2a, or the federally taxable amount from box 1 when box 2a is empty or "undetermined".)

NY is especially picky about this and my state (NC) will back-fill box 16 with box 2a when the follow-up questions are properly answered about what the state distribution amount is.   I would say that a value of 0.00 in box 16 would be quite rare, and probably wrong.....but that may depend on what state is involved.

Had the same problem and retried Many times.

Fixed after I entered 0's instead of blanks to match the paper form exactly.
