1099-R in 2021?

Hello,

Turbo Tax is asking whether I received a 1099-R in 2021. I received two 2020 1099-R forms, but I received them during 2021. Should I answer this question with "Yes" or "No"? I am assuming Turbo Tax is actually referring to 1099-R forms received in 2022 for tax year 2021?

You should answer NO; you are correct.   TurboTax is asking for 2021 tax forms, the ones you would have received early this year (2022).    The 2 forms you have go on last year's return, the 2020 tax return you filed in 2021.

Did you already report both of those 1099-Rs, or do you need to amend your 2020 tax return to add them?   If you do, here is the link you need.   If you already accounted for them on last year's return, you don't need to amend and they do not go on this year's tax return. 😉
