Stimulus Payment

My parents claimed me on their taxes for 2018 and 2019.  I was a college student and had no income.  However, im about to file my 2020 by myself and the recovery rebate credit is being added on my return.  Am i eligible to claim this since my parents technically already got this for me?  I dont want to get in trouble but could use the extra money.

Your parents did not get stimulus money for you unless you were younger than 17   Parents only get stimulus money for kids who are 16 or younger,

If you are no longer a dependent then you can get the stimulus on your 2020 return.

The stimulus check is an advance on a credit you can receive on your 2020 tax return.  If something went wrong or you did not get the stimulus check in 2020, you can get it when you file your 2020 return in early 2021

The Recovery Rebate Credit will be found in the Federal Review section,  If you are eligible it will end up on line 30 of your 2020 Form 1040.
