Second stimulus errors. With a third stimulus coming, will this happen all over again?

January 8th, and still don't see my second stimulus being processed, and the Get My Payment status on the IRS site still says Not Available. Though, it shows my account information on the first stimulus just fine. My concern, now there is talk of a third stimulus with a Democratic President with both House and Senate in control with a target of the order of business in the first 100 days to fulfill that $2,000 per qualified individual; will this error happen all over again as the second stimulus happened? What are the guarantees and systems of controls TurboTax and the IRS are working on to make sure these errors don't happen again for the upcoming third stimulus? Anxiously awaiting a response. Thank you.

With regards to the second stimulus payment, TurboTax announced today that this has been resolved; however, it may take a few business days for the IRS to reflect this on your account or for your bank to process and post the direct deposit to your account.

 

As far as a third stimulus is concerned we can't comment until such a provision is passed into law.

Thank you kindly for your prompt response. Yahoo financial news is saying that for those like me who didn't receive the second stimulus via direct deposit, will be getting a paper check, or debit card. Does this apply to TurboTax or HR Block customers? Thank you again for helping sort out any misinformation.

We are happy to share that stimulus payments will begin to be deposited on January 8th for millions of our customers affected by the IRS error. We expect most of these payments to be available that day, but banks could take a few business days to process.

 

Payment will be deposited into the same bank account that customers received their 2019 tax refund.

 

Customers receiving a stimulus payment will receive an email from TurboTax letting them know their stimulus payment is on the way. We have been working tirelessly with the Treasury and IRS to get stimulus payments to our customers. We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and we regret that an IRS error caused a delay.
