Air conditioning systems can be eligible for a $300 energy credit if it meets certain efficiency requirements. The manufacturer can tell you whether a particular system meets those standards.
You would enter the cost of the Air conditioning system on Form 5695 in the Residential energy property costs section .
To enter the cost, you would:
- Enter energy credits in the Search Magnifying Glass in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
- Select Jump to energy credits.
- Answer the questions on the screens.
