State Tax exemption ammendment

Hello,

For the last three years i have been paying state taxes when I should not have been. My legal state of residence is CT, but I have not lived in CT for more than 30 days and meet all conditions for Group A to be exempt. How do I amend my 3 previous taxes returns to get all the money back I've was exempt from paying?

You can amend your tax return and change to Nonresident.  Report zero income and any tax you paid will be refunded.

In my profile, there is no non-resident option. There is only "Foreign or U.S. Territory"," and the TurboTax help guide says I should use my legal residence. However, when I input CT and change my state taxes paid to $0, it wants me to pay $1,776 to CT.

You are going to have to select a non-Connecticut option because you are using the exemption and TurboTax does not give you that option.  When you go to the state section, you can also change the form to Nonresident.  You then have to go through and zero out all Connecticut income.  @buchetto97
